Ming Chiang, Amityville Rotarian and 7255 Polio Plus Foundation Chair, recently returned from Berlin where he was a panelist at The World Forum on the Future of Democracy, Tech, and Humankind. The worldwide event focused on current threats to worldwide democracies. Ming is one of the executive producers of the documentary, Invisible Nation, a film following Taiwan’s first female president, Tsai Ing-wen, and a portrait of Taiwan and the country’s struggle to preserve its hard-won democracy. The documentary received The Cinema for Peace Honorary Award for its inspiring performance that resonated with the themes of international understanding, freedom, and peace.

Kidney Donation Urgently Needed for Dedicated Rotarian

Oscar Pateña is an active and very involved member of the Queensborough West Rotary Club.
Oscar's kidneys began deteriorating some 5 years ago, and he has been going to dialysis 3 times a week ever since. Recently, he received the news that dialysis is no longer sustainable and is in urgent need of a kidney. He is on the donation list with Northwell Health but time is of the essence!

Rotary 7255 - Gift of Life - 9 Year Old Ukrainian girl will have life saving heart surgery on LI - Rotary District 7255 and Gift of Life Long Island with Gift of Life International and several others are making a difference in the life of girl from war-torn Ukraine. Polina is Gift of Life’s most recent child, unable to receive necessary care in her home country of Ukraine due to the ongoing war.Through our ongoing partnership with Gift of Life International, CEO Rob Raylman was able to make arrangements to bring Polina to the states for her life saving surgery. Dr. Levchuck is of proud Ukrainian decent performed Polina’s surgery this July, 2022. See Media Links below for detailed coverage.

DG Jax Yonick -2020-21 - Year In Review

Jacquelyn (Jax) Yonick joined Rotary at the age of 29 in 2007.  Since that time she has served District 7255 (and former 7250) as a GSE Team Leader to India, Conference Committee member for seven District Governors, RYLA Chair and co-Chair assisting in expanding the program from 125 to 300+ youth served annually; as Youth Services Chair, RLI and PETS Facilitator, Peace Fellow Chair, is a sustaining EREY member and multiple Paul Harris Fellow.  She was the point person with Quiksilver organization to Rotary organizing volunteer efforts for the two-week event; spearheaded monthly afterwork networking events, is her club’s Community Interact advisor, and prior to interviewing for the Governor position, was a member of the interview committee.

Born and raised in Ronkonkoma, NY. Justin is the son of fellow Rotarians Rose & PDG Arnie, brother of Chelsea and Taylor all members of the Ronkonkoma Rotary Club, he joined the Club in 2010. Justin is an Eagle Scout and has a degree from Farmingdale State College. He also is a license Independent Insurance Adjuster and Property & Casualty Insurance Broker.
